That is a very fine looking blade! Looking forward to seeing the pics with it's scales.

You put any scales on her yet? How's the shave? Waiting on my own, can't stop browsing all the koraats in the meantime, hit us with an update!

Life keeps getting in the way! Scales are cut and drilled but need a bit more profiling before fine finishing. When I got the blade out to size the scales I found fine black corrosion on some parts which I'm guessing was down to metal dust as the blade has never even been damp. It's all cleaned up now but while I was doing that I got a couple of small chips on the edge. They are sorted now and I have all I need to finish it given a little more time[emoji3]

Well I've finally got it finished. My first attempt at scale making and I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

The scales are streaked horn with a horn wedge and pinned with brass.

Huge thanks to Ulrik for helping out when I messed up the beautiful finish on the blade (again!) and thanks to all those who have posted so much useful information on the forum allowing me to get the job done.

Honed on my Naniwa progression and gives a very sweet shave.

Congratulations on getting her finished. I really like the shape you did on the scales. They add a bit of a mystery as to what kind of blade rests there. And opening the razor to reveal a Koraat is the deal. Great work. Enjoy.

The scales look great. Very nicely done, and congratulations on finishing this project. I purchased a Koraat about a year ago, and enjoyed shaving with it so much, that I purchased another.

You did a great job on the scales - they certainly don't look like a first time effort - and the whole razor now looks fantastic.
