    I have no idea what gave mine the patina. It was that way when I inherited it from my great uncle Noah back in about 1975. It's been in my rotation since then. I gave it a couple of licks on the strop today in preparation for Wednesday's SOTD.

    My barber friend that I do restore work for. His blades are like that.
    Its from the sanitizer he soaks them in
