The blades merkur makes for the moustache razor are very poor which is a real shame. Their de blades are average but given price point vs performance are not that hot either. Merkur has been slowly righting the quality ship lately on the de front so maybe the blades will follow.

I also found one at the local flea market today. Fairly cheap, $2

Very nice. My local antique stores are almost razor free and what they have is not in good shape (narrow blades, lots of corrosion.)

I'd say this was a quite rare find for me, at least here in Denmark. I can only count 5 or 6 razors that I found in the wild witch was in good condition. The places I usually go always has the same razors laying for months. No wonder, they are in awful condition. It's sadly not often that they'll get new ones. And mugs i've never seen one in the wild.

The second razor in this thread is a Merkur corn razor. Blades are still available for this one as well. Search for Merkur corn razor blades.
MrChick,,, do you still use your mustache razor?

Rarely. I might use it once s month. I would probably use it more if the blades weren't so bad.

    MrChick,
Well,,, I made this little razor cover for my Gillette razors for travel,, but it turned out too small to get any of my razors into. The only razor that would fit was the mustache razor. I will never use mine & the cover will get thrown in the drawer.

So you can have it , just PM an address & I'll throw it in an envelope to you.

The inside was burnished & finished with Bee's wax.
