Yours would be a bid different as the spine is not curved.
Just take some measurements, so you remove just enough to get past the chip and match the heel to the toe, make a template and take your time.

Very good advice on maybe letting a pro either turn into a smiley or round point, which ever way you decide to go. You have to be very careful not getting the metal too hot. Also, you have to be particularly careful grinding the thin part of the blade as it will chip very easily and can damage the blade. Good luck on your project!
