Cleaning the brown cup I found a large puck of soap with the words "MON TRIOMPHE"
Not the best smelling stuff...
I think I will hand lather the old spice one and see how it does.
it has been covered by the red thing think it's still good?"When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound,

Thanked: 1184May be a little dry but that won't do anything but make it a little harder to lather.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Did well enough to give them a try for real the next few days.
I have water treatment and Williams even does well for me.
The Mon T stuff stinks like toilet soap bought by the case so I will be getting a big puck of something else for the big brown cup.
Think I will use the Old Spice until gone as long as it passes shave test, it easily peaked like meringue in my hand. I expected a better scent.
Maybe a long time wet shaver can chime in about scents back in olden times....Last edited by gflight; 07-10-2016 at 07:27 PM.

So in 1978 for a $6 after shave purchase I could have gotten the mug, brush, and soap for $9.75. I saved a $1.75 and didn't even buy the after shave. I am killing it....lol"When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound,

That's a nice joseph Allen. It looks like it will clean up & be a nice shaver. I thought I had a really nice one awhile back & when it was in transit, I was looking at it in the listing & i thought I saw a crack so I wrote the seller to tell her I think it had a crack before it arrived. It got here & after I cleaned off some dirt & surface rust, there it was........................a crack on such a beautiful & wide blade! I wrote her & she refunded me but i can make a shorty out of it. I was glad I wrote her & said I thought it had a crack in it, that way she could;t say I did it. A 13/16" Joseph Allen that says Barbers Rattler on it. :banged:

Thought about putting this in the "In the mail" thread.
Can't wait until I get it back all cleaned and honed....

I have the razor rotation thing going on now that she is back.
The wedge on this one asks for a different angle than my hollow grounds and it wants to create suction to my face.
