You never know what you'll come across at flea markets though. Like the $10 NOS Geneva Cutlery, Henrys X that I found at one.

Found a few more items at the flea market this weekend. There's a Kukri 360 with a nice worked spine, blade is in pretty good shape but the scales are both cracked at the pivot. I'll give her some new and better looking scales sometime soon. I got a tattered strop just for the hardware, 5 barber hones (swaty, boss barber, etc.) a couple are chipped here and there, a fine grit manufactured brownish hone that is extremely hard (so hard I'm afraid it will ruin my DMT lapping) luckily it's flat already, feels about 6-8K. Then, what I was pleased to find in with the other hones is a natural combo coticule. The coti was a little dished at first but I got it lapped flat now.

Wow..!!
Nice haul Tuzi.
The stone above the coti in the first pic, looks like the stone I honed on for years before learning about synthetic stones.
It sits on the kitchen window sill, keeping my vintage high carbon kitchen knives, shave ready..hehe.[emoji56]Mike

Yeah it looks similar except the one I have is not two sided, it's just a big brown super hard chunk. Funny because I was thinking that it would be a good one for the kitchen! I cleaned the oil off of it with TSP/water solution then I rubbed my DMT on it for a few passes and when nothing happened, no slurry no nothing, I stopped with the DMT and tried sandpaper (better off wearing out a piece of sandpaper than the DMT). Still nothing, just as hard as can be. I ended up chamfering the edges with a beat up diamond file and left it at that. Gonna sharp up my turkey carving knife with it next month!

Mine was the same way.
Chewed up a 220 lapping stone, finished on paper. Same for the lapping stone.
But it was the only stone I used for honing everything, including my one and only razor at the time, just had to finish with a pasted leather belt that I grew out of. On the inside of the belt ,(suede side) one side was red rogue, the other white till learning about cr/ox. The outside...plain smooth leather.
Still use it , but only for certain razors, typically heavy Smiler's.
