Looks like two different scale materials.

I have one like that with one horn and one wood scale. I actually like it that way. Whatever you decide, she's going to come out looking good.

The razor is looking very nice and good luck with the scales.

I think I saw that one on the Bay. Remember something about 2 different scales. May not have been that one. Not sure.

Looks like you're making nice progress!!

Yea, probably the same one. Looks a hell of a lot better now than it did in the Ebay photos!

So, blade is nice, but the scales are "full of fail"

I wanted to make the look more uniform, but I dont have any horn to form a replacement. I opted to keep the wood. To make it look good, I did a few coats of black lacquer and some hand rubbing and buffing. It was all shine and gloss and pretty, until a split happened at the pivot while pinning it up. Here is how it looks right now, just so you can see how it progressed. Ignore the many fingerprints!

So, now to remove the scales again, clear the lacquer off the rear, and shelve this project until I have some horn. Unless one of you guys want to do it for me as a late bday early Christmas present? hint hint nudge nudge....

Yup. Face side is wood, rear is horn. Whomever did the replacement, it was a long time ago, and very well crafted. I am considering leaving it, simply "because"
