Default Norelco- A Blast From The Past.

    Hello Guys,
Friday I got my haircut & was surprised by my barber Mario. He gave me this vintage Norelco TripleHeader VIP electric shaver from the early 1970's. Last year he surprised me with a coticule.

He knows I only use straights & vintage Gillettes, but he knows also that I have a shaving collection. He thought it would look nice. I spent 2 hours taking it apart & cleaning it. It still works great.

    Thanks for looking,,,,,,,

Made in the 70's, and after a little cleaning...still works.

Back in the day when "quality" was a large part of most products, and a well paid, respected work force to make them.

These days, top of the line Bosch dishwasher, dead in 3 years, my Mom's 25 year old Maytag dishwasher, still working fine, same with her old washer and dryer, she won't buy anything new because she knows, from her friends and others that the new stuff just isn't made to last....

Norelco, there's a name you haven't heard in awhile....excellent post, thanks.

Oh no, ESAD here we go...
Funny, there has not been much interesting local lately and I have been eye balling vintage electric shavers. How's the shave?

After I cleaned it, I just ran it across the underside of my forearm,, it seems to cut O.K.

You can probably get new cutter heads.

Thanks, but I'll never use it. It's just to show guests a little shaving history.

That, or the two head versions were the only electric razors that didn't give me a zit face.

The dang thing probably weighs 5 pounds,,, you could beat an intruder down with it, if he caught you shaving.
