Amazing metal
Had to share this with y'all.
Working in the marine industry puts me in touch with some cool stuff for combating corrosion, scale, rust, oxidation, you name it.
The boss had put me on a detail job, that is going to a show. The bathroom fixtures were covered in corrosion, and light rust. Looked around the cleaning shelf for something to use on it, came across a can of 3M metal restorer/polish. I'd never used it before and figured...can't hurt. Here's the results.
I was impressed how fast and well it worked, I brought some home to see what it would do to a razor.
This was achieved in 10min. or less, using a rag in hand, and moderate pressure, then polished with micro fiber towel.

That stuff looks like it works unbelievably well.
Now I gotta go hunt some down.

Its like supercharged Maas.
I've been working on another one, has no rust, but plenty of tarnish. Its taking a bit more elbow grease, but coming along quite well for its age.
Its been in the tadoo box for awhile, and have been waiting for something to clean it up with, being I can't sand it because of the etched design on the blade, and steel wool might damage it.
I'll post pics when I'm done.
Stay tuned..!!Mike

I found the MSDS at http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawe...9lxtD7SSSSSS-- and it has some good information.
Aluminum oxide and ferrous oxide in 'trade secret' concentrations. Slight ammonia odor, a pink color, and a 9.4 pH. Sounds like an aggressive version of Simichrome.
