The Hammond's a lovely hollow grind that should sing like the choir.
Looking at the bottom of the brush I see there is a black enamel. Wonder if this was original as every one I've seen was polished smooth. Kinda like the effect regardless, makes the letters pop.

The paint does look very nice against the letters. Likes a lot.

It needs scales real bad. I'm going to have to stock up on some more horn. The blade is in great shape, little spot of rust in some spots, but mostly patina. The original grind marks are still visible through the patina, so I probably won't do much, if anything, to restore it.

My wife's daughter sent me this brush and stand, she found it in a resale shop in Memphis.
It's a Stag #B1189. I'm not familiar with this brand name. It still works great.

Nice haul, fellas! I love that big meat-chopper Anchor. Big smilin' Sheffields are my cup of tea. I made a big order after Black Friday for some creams and aftershaves (WestCoastShaving wouldn't stop sending me these daily deals-they know how weak I am!).

Anyway, I got my boys some Proraso cream for stocking stuffers (and of course 1 tube for Santa!). I had almost forgotten how much I love this stuff! Of course I also had to get the Proraso aftershave to go with it. And the Pitralon Polar was on sale-throw it in the cart! Love 'em both! Both have a similar "cool" scent profile, with the Pitralon leaning more towards the blue/aquatic (and slightly spicy) end of the spectrum, while the Proraso has a more "green" (Captain Obvious here) scent, though not exactly like the cream. Both are slightly mentholated, which I love-I'm just not very good at describing scents.

The LuckyTiger Vanishing Cream balm I'm still not sure about. It has a nice, cool menthol mint scent (a lot like Noxzema) and is nice and soothing on the face (if a bit greasy at first). But it also has little gritty pieces in it that are annoying-crystallized product, maybe?

Anyway, my boys got me my LONG-awaited Chosera 1k bevel setter! I have not done much with it yet besides lap the coarse "skin" off the top and chamfer the edges, as I had already finished all of my blades the Monday before Christmas in a honing session with CJBianco. So I guess I have to get some more Ebay specials to play with now!

Funny thing is, I had also ordered one (the Chosera) for myself when they were on sale via Amazon, so now I have TWO! (I thought they were getting me a bottle of scotch!). No worries, though, as Bianco wants the extra Chosera, and I want a translucent arkie he has, as well as a "pocket rocket" JNat, so we're working out a trade.

More to report when I get the trans-ark and that "pocket rocket."
