so my 10# sledge is too big for peening? its the only hammer I know how to swing Roy. I mean come on my wrenches are 3' or longer Tc

Do what you wanna do, but I have learned to NOT beat on those...
I shall explain.
Recently I took on a couple of nice, original ones...(this is typical!)
Then I unpinned them;
You can see that the pins were bent, slanted, collars seized and flattened and not disposed to tightening at all.........Whatsoever.
Bust some scales trying for way too long to tighten by tapping.
It becomes obvious after a bit. Tapping on a bent or slanted pin is like tapping on a spring...Scales in-between!Last edited by sharptonn; 10-30-2017 at 12:28 AM.
