Joseph Rogers & Sons 7 day set
This set only required some cleaning. They appear to have the original factory bevel. There is no hone wear. The case is leather covered and is in need of some care. I'm considering trying some leather dye.
The blades are 5/8 and measure just 2 3/4 inches from heel to toe. A set made for travel maybe. They appear to be 1820's - 1830's but my knowledge of this type of set is lacking. I'm hoping Scienceguy or Voidmonster will chime in with a history lesson. The tang of each blade is stamped with the number 4 and the scales brass tang is stamped with the number 5. I do not know the significance of the numbers but all the blades fit tightly in the scale's tang.
Interesting the logo in the box lid says 'Cutlers to her Majesty' and the blade tang is stamped 'Cutlers to Their Majesties'

Nice, Karl! Look in 'The Gentlemen's Set' razor club and post it there.
Several of those sets there including mine, a 4-razor set.
IIRC, the handle is usually stamped with the same number as the blades? A discussion on that there as well."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

That is a sweet set there, sir. What are the dimensions of the box?
I wonder when I see these sets if they were intended for long trips or postings overseas. It would make sense to have seven blades if you were expecting to be gone for six months where razor sharpening services might be scarce to nonexistent.

[QUOTE=Leatherstockiings;1786615]That is a sweet set there, sir. What are the dimensions of the box?
The box is small and just large enough to hold the blades and scales. 5" long by 2 3/4" wide by 1 1/2" thick.

I have seen a few of these (this style particular, as opposed to generic detachable sets) and they seem to be throwbacks to earlier detachable ones. I don't see any reason why the box would have been mismatched to the set, and Her Majesty would mean Victoria, so the set would be after 1837 (the Cutlers to Their Majesties mark is common even on earlier pieces) based on this.
