The polident cleaned them up pretty good but I put them back in the soaking box and put water and a little bleach and let them soak again this time they came out much better. after drying I made 2washers extra thin out of brass and supper glued them to the hinge end of the scales on the inside. when this drys I'll install the blade with another very thin washer between the blade and the washer I glued. I've never done this before but am hoping with the two brass washers one stable the other moveable that the one glued to the scales will give added support and help against cracking and the loose one will act like a bearing so when it tightens it still will move without torquing the scales . anyway the brass washers are so thin that I don't believe you will be able to tell theres two per side.

It may not look any better in the photos but in the had it does. the back side looks smugded but it's really not I'm having camera problems. (I don't know how to use it) I've got another razor on it's way . I'll hone them both when it gets here and I rob the scales off it to put on the Mappin web

I couldn't wait. I honed it tonight using the 800-1-3-5-8-12K naniwa SS and finished with the 20K Suehiro. It shaves rather well. I had a 3 day old beard . I seem to get a better shave with a 2-3 day old beard or even longer.

Thanked: 4826With razors getting the lighting right is my biggest challenge. I have a shadow box that helps a lot.

Thanked: 4826I agree that a course at a community college would be awesome. I do not have much opportunities for such things. It is part of the price we pay for living in paradise.
