Coloring outside the lines
A pair of modern Vanta shavettes in bone and honey horn. The wedges are black horn. The original plastic scales and roll pins were replaced with more tradition materials reminiscent of the Sheffield school. The original scales had plastic stop pins cast into the scales to prevent the razor from passing through the scales. A brass 3rd pin was installed in the new scales for this reason. A third pin is frequently seen in 20th century razors either to act as a stop or in most cases to stabilize the celluloid or plastic type scales.

Thanked: 4826I have seen a few upgrades shavette. I can’t see why not. They look so much nicer. You did a nice job, but we have seen enough of your work in the past that I am not surprised.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I really like the shape and execution on the scales. Nice lines.
It may be just the light, but on one photo it looks like the insides of the horn scales aren't sanded/polished. Is that indeed the case? If so, for any particular reason?

They are only taken to 400 grit on the inside making them not as transparent.
