Well, there were 3 razors at the antique shop, only one was worth buying. The first was a 5/8, Unknown German grind, with a big bite outta the heel...wind chime.
The second, a badly rusted 5/8 Case, from Bradford PA, Also with heel issues. Crying shame, just criminal like.
The last one, I figured the box said all, but was surprised to see the blade was perfect, but the scales were busted.
Won't need more than a clean up, and another scale from my parts box. Hmm...five bucks ! With matching box.!
I'll take the "Chip A Way"

Thanked: 556Glad to see you got something worthwhile. The suspense was killing me.

Thanked: 104That Wosty with the racehorse on the blade is absolutely the goods. It would make a fine Christmas gift for anyone who happened to live in New York and work summers at Saratoga horse track. If you dont know anyone that meets those qualifications, I have a short list. (Much jealousy on that one. Keep us posted on how great these look as you restore them.)

Another call from the shop, today. Stopped in after work and found a near NOS, 13/16 Clauss, stamped U.S.M.C. on back side of tang, and a boar brush that's stamped Chicago, on the ferrule.
After giving the knot a cleaning, and the razor and scales a quick polish with 3M metal restorer/polish, by hand.

Thanked: 3215Love the Clauss’ they are shavers. Nice score.
Yup keep dropping in, leave your number, occasionally pay up a little more than normal, don’t beat em up too bad, and you will get a first dibs call, every time.

Thanked: 4206You have a great contact Mike.
Nice grab! Clauss is a great shaver..
Been hitting some antique shops while on this Europe trip, and while I’ve found a few blades here and there, all were horribly worn down and not worth the euros. Maybe in the next country,,,,,

Thanked: 104Got an Eliot and a Reynolds yesterday and a pretty cute little Ever Ready Brush. Will try and post pics later. I seem to be a magnet for Reynolds Razors.
