Size: 25.2 KB Good day all.. I just got back from being on the road for a few weeks and my wife had picked up my new Koraat from the PO a week ago... Needless to say i was like a child waiting for Christmas morning all the way home!! I waited to open her up until this morning and WOW!! this is such a gorgeous peice of steel, like a lamb chop in my hand. I could stare at this for hours! As to not go on forever illl just say that im so happy that i went with Ulrik on my first custom razor. I waited for a number of years before deciding on what i wanted.. It took me that long to find out what is best for me.. Took about 25-30 razors but was worth it. I highly recommend Ulrik if anyone is thinking of a custom.. Easy to work with, great value, fantastic shave, beautiful workmanship, etc.. An fyi also. These are not heavy by any means but they are a big razor. I ordered the 6/8 and mine measures a full 7/8 from the spine, probably a 6/8 from the hollow but didnt check.. Just to keep in mind if you are wondering about how the size is... Anyway thanks for letting me ramble a little bit and have a good day

I'm confused. You say you ordered a 6/8. Your picture shows a 14 which as far as I know only comes in a 24mm width (hence the name).

Koraat razors are very nice and Urlik does an outstanding job

    Hey Scott

Would you bring that to the meet?

    Congrats on your new blade.
You are 100% correct. Ulrik is tops to buy from. Does outstanding work. And I still get a great deal of enjoyment every time I use mine. Which is frequently.
It's my only "New" razor. I went with the thinned option for my 14 2.0. It's fit, finish and grind is superlative.
    Welcome to the club. Ken.

    A beauty!

Has anyone shaved with the stabilized and non-versions? Curious...

I only have the one Koraat. But two of my other vintage razors have the bellied hollow grind. A Griffon Carbo Magnetic. And a Robeson New Science Concave.
The Robeson is very thin between the spine "ridge" near the edge. It is as noisy as a lot of my extra hollows. The shaves are good. But I can't say for certain that there is difference in "how" they shave feel wise. Like them either way really. My $.02. Ken
