Thanked: 2284Couldn't leave without them
Stopped in at one of my local antique stores a few days ago and found these guys. Price was great on all so they had to come home with me.
The old liquor bottle is an old one from the local Seagrams distillery in Waterloo, that's closed down now, but use to make Crown Royal and other spirits. Came upon some great razors as well, but prices seem to be too high these days. Words out...

Don't think that's a Coticule,

Thanked: 2284I am a Coticule guy Tom. Most my Sheffields have Coticule edges on them, they're so buttery smooth!! I have 2 real good ones.
Ya, Richards right. It's a synthetic combo stone of some sort. Might come to work with me to put edges on my chisels.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

Nice scoop, Andrew. I picked up an old dual synthetic similar to yours that came along with an S.R. Droescher blue thuringian from ebay. Mine does not resemble a coticule, however, since it's light grey on the one side and dark on the opposite. Excellent shape save for few a small chips in corners, but I have no use for it.

Nice! I can never find stones for some reason. Razors sure, but like you say, way to expensive.

Thanked: 2284Holy cow! That's a score. Are they in good shape, or are they destined for the wind chime?
