    Default Present for an anniversary

May seem like a little or dumb thing to some but I have wanted one of these for a long time. I saw one in an antique store and had the "got to have it"s.

Very cool box. What do you think the big slot is for?

My guess is a barber hone. I can't imagine a strip would fit in that slot. It is supposed to be a "barber box"

I saw one listed on some auction site and they said something to the effect of "slots for 15 razors and a barber hone," but that may have just been their guess. That's what I took it to be at least. Probably just general storage, whatever you wanted to put in there. Funny, when I first saw this thing in an antique shop I had just started looking at razors and I thought I'll never have enough razors to fill that thing. Now I'll be lucky if my regular rotation razors will fit in there. That's my plan for it at least.

I have never seen one in hand, only on the auction sights. I am curious if the razor fit in there easily in their original boxes. They have piqued my curiosity for a while.

    Neat! Scissors, etc?

    A. Witte of New York!

Perhaps some of those cloth sleeves for the razors?

That is unusual. I've never seen one of these. But it is nice!

At the antique shop where it was there were some razors in it (razors sold separately) in cloth sleeves but I thought that was something that somebody's wife sewed up for them. Damn Tom, you're on the ball!
