Vintage W&B from Griffith
Inspired in part by Outback's New Years Day SOTD, and the amazing razors featured in the thread about rare razors, I picked up my first Civil War era Wade & Butcher from Griffith. Figured I would use a photo of a family member, Thomas Rapp, GAR, killed fighting that war to put it into context.
Cheers.

Thanked: 556Lovely razor. He does wonderful restorations and his prices seem reasonable.

What are the odds?

Surely they were not mass produced? The scales are the same but the blades are slightly different. Glad to be able to join the club!

You betcha they were mass-produced! Looks like my blade and yours are same with that spine treatment Mike's does not seem to have?

Agreed. Is that spine purely for looks? Does it make the razor difficult to hone?

Yes, for looks. Does yours have it on the backside too?
They always hone fine for me.
