During the heyday of American razor production it was pretty common. Here are just a few I pulled out of the drawer.

And there are many, many more. That was just the first five I grabbed.

That was a great score. Would love to have an oversized Sheffield someday. Finding out it is even larger was a bonus.

Paul, that is nice having a Union from both factories.
I'm in Georgia, so I've wondered what stands where Union Razor used to be.

The shape/notch of that seems different too, Cheetah. Bet that is older than most we see?

Yeah Joshua I got that one in a deal for a Henry Sears and Son. I had some conversation with a seller on eBay about it and he asked me to make him an offer which I did. I couldn't even tell what the other one was when I bought it, but I was thrilled that it was from the Georgia factory. I'd never even seen one before. You can just see in the picture that there's some white stuff on the scale. It looks like paint. I think they were using it to cut wallpaper or something. That's further down the list in my restore drawer, but I'm definitely intrigued by that one.

    Sorry, didn't mean to hijack.

I agree with you about the shape. It's just a huge rectangle. No curve to the spine and the notch seems super small and out of place. I might have some donor W&B Scales that might be better fitting for this one.

YES! One sixteenth closer to 10/8's but who's counting.

That's what it is! I knew something else looked different about that one.
