I have several Henckels razors, all 7/8 or above and all excellent shavers.
The froidurs are a very stout steel, and although a bit challenging to hone, they take a superb edge and hold on to it.
They aren't as flexible as most full hollows, very forgiving... I'm not sure what else to tell you... I really don't think you can go wrong with them.

This was from Shaving Shop, right? I just checked there & they don't have any... Also, what are they asking for them? Might have to decide between 1 of those or a TI next month.

Thanks for all the info and input guys! Richard that is an awesome looking straight. What material are the scales made of?
Does the Shavingshop put a decent edge on these if you opt for the honing option?
Edit: Nevermind. A little further reading reveals high praise for Monsieur Crowley's products and honing.Last edited by Pudu; 03-06-2008 at 12:17 PM.

Thanked: 8I just checked and they still have them and they start at about $125, a great price, and a great razor. I've bought a couple from him and he has great razors including the Wackers regardless of what you may have read on a certain other board.

They are still around, I had to make that choice earlier this month. The TI 7/8 with the Sheffield Blade or the 7/8 NOS Henckels. I went with the Henckels for $125+honing. I can get the Henckels rescaled later if I want. Sometimes I get frustrated because it seems with new razors you have to pay an extra $100 or so for the scales, when you really are just looking for a good blade.

D'oh! How did I miss that?
Looks like a good candidate for a RW re-scaling... ...maybe giraffe bone!

LOL..it got here just as I was about to shave. It is the best all around shaver I have ever used in my short shaving career It is huge, but got into all the tight spots I sometimes have problems with. My best shaver, no contest.

I got mine yesterday.....man that blade is just gorgeous! I doubt if I'll get it rescaled because I kinda wanted a black handled razor.
