yep, I think mine, yours and byron's were the last three siblings with no SRD genes in their lineage

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I haven't changed the way I make them for SRD. I just wanted to mention the reason for the longer shank and tang...to me, it makes honing and stropping easier. No other reason...no "design choice" or anything else so pretentious....just makes honing and stropping easier. Well, that, and you don't see it very much. Glad you like them, and it was a pleasure making them for all of you.

Awesome razor, Ivan. Not to downplay how cool that razor is, but with the title of your thread, before reading it, I was hoping that YOU had made your first custom. I was excited to see that. Not that I was let down to see your JC razor, but you know what I mean.

Awesome Razor
That is a beauty. Being new to the whole straight razor business, would it be out of line to ask what the price tag is on some of JC's customs?

Man.
The really cool thing about having seen a bunch of customs in person is that I was immediately able to recognize Joe's work from the thumbnails alone. The clean shoulderless design coupled with the get-up-close-with-this-razor details like the third pin bead, turquoise spacer, and intricate working are simply unmistakably Joe Chandler. With "signatures" like those I mentioned above, I don't even understand why he feels the need to stamp any other mark on them at all!
Make sure and post a shave review of this beauty Gugi!
