Thanks for posting pics. It looks like both woods are joined with some sort of bonding between the woods which fill in the kerf between the two pieces?

I always like to try to figure out how something is done.

I wonder if he stacks 4 slabs on top of each other, makes his cut through all slabs in the same cut, then pairs the lighter colored top slabs to the bottom darker slabs filling in the kerf with epoxy or some such thing?

    Hello Chris,

this is right. You descriped the process. The greatest problem with this is, that you must use a very, very thin sawblade.

Antilope 8/0 Sawblades By The Dozen-12 Pieces : Antilope Saw Blades-German Made : Saw Blades, Saw Frames & Sawing Jigs : Tools & Metals : Otto Frei Antilope Saw Blades-German Made - Jewelry Tools, Jewelry Supplies, and Findings

This blades normally used by jewellers and they are not made for wood in the thicknes of 4 layers. Thats why the break very fast and often. Also you must sawing very slowly.
Fot the cut of this scales I needed 6 or 7 saw blades and nearly a hour of cutting.

Thank you very much for being so generous in sharing your process, Buddel. I have great respect for you because you have been so forthright. Your scales are artistic, creative and all around impressive. Thank you again.

Depending on the design, thicker blades my be used. It all comes down to what you want and the limit of your tools.

Holy crap, I had THE BEST shave tonight! I had about a weeks worth of growth, and I used my new Bengall for the first time: Freaking AMAZING!!

That was the smoothest shave I have ever had, it was like butter, I couldn't believe it. The balance was just right in my hand, and the length of the cutting edge was perfect for my neck area (not like my other razor, which feels just a tiny bit too long). There was no pulling at all, just silky smooth like running velvet over my face.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH Buddel!
