If I had to pay 'full-wack' for a Coticule, and had the funds I'd go for a 3x8 or longer Coticule/BBW combo. Or a really nice single coticule.
I think a hone that is wider than your longest blade is not needed.
I only got this monster because it was cheap.
I would LOVE to know where it came from, Rob couldn't help with that. He did say it was the 2nd biggest he's seen/ heard off.
I won't be looking for another Belgian stone, whats the point? It's BIG, fine, hard and pretty.
I only need a 1200 grit diamond hone now, just to set a bevel.
I used 600 grit wet'n'dry to do my taylors Eye Witness It worked fine!!
but, I know I could do with a nice DMT bevel setter.
