We need to have another Ohio get together before I leave. Got promoted, moving to Philly sometime in the next few months. A round a sporting clays, a bottle of single malt and an assortment of contraband cigars sounds good. I will bring along an espresso machine or two to play with.

Good to hear! In case you couldn't guess I grew up in Philly. It's much better than Ohio, trust me ! Anyway, I may be moving back there around March, but probably outside of the city somewhere. Plans are still up in the air.

Boy I hate to see ya go. I hoped to adopt you as a mentor when I get the house done and get the espresso machine. Oh well there is always info and help on the web I lurk on home barista a good bit. just can't drop the grand and a half on the new alex yet may go double boiler anyway. I'm spending all of my extra cash on the house.

    Jerry,
We hope to be in by mid December but it won't be done just liveable. I won't have the master bath done or the "good" kitchen I am going to move the old stove and such to the basement and make a man kitchen to use untill I get the cabnets made and all of the new kenmore elite stanless moved in. Gotta save money for the floor first, we want a hand scraped wide plank ($$$) for the kitchen/living area.

Dave, hate to see you move, but I would be interested in attending an Ohio get-together. So, where were you guys thinking about holding this event?

Wow! I expect to see some pics of this place on the "show and tell". And the cool thing is that you are doing most/all of the work. . Heck I just want to see pics of your shop.

D'Angelo's Italian Restaurant, 256 S. 20th St. in downtown Philly...just off Rittenhouse Square...is it good? Fugedaboudit!

Excellent entrees and wine list. Bard downstairs, restaurant upstairs...warm, inviting.
When I first went there, one of the owners, Ms. D'Angelo, sat with me at my table and pointed out all the luminaries in the restuarant (politicos, sports celebs, locla celebs) and then checked on me 3-4 times while I was eating. Super people! If I remember correctly, you can smoke cigars in the bar downstairs.

The Ritz-Carlton has a great cigar and scotch bar...they took over a historic bank building and the bar in the old vault. Right across the street from City Hall. Brunch there is awesome too, for a special occasion.

    Default koken barber chair

    Kilowatt kid,
Can I ask what you paid for the Koken President chair?

I have one that I think I need to sell. It's brown and tan, perfect condition but missing the handle.

Do you possibly have a spare handle for sale.

    Thanks.
