Koken barber chair
Lookee what I found today! A 1960 Koken "President" model barbers chair. Other than a few tears in the armrest, it cleaned up nice. Everything seems to work as well.
Sometimes things just come to you and you have to take it. Especially when the price is right.

That's so awesome. I've actually got two people that want me to give them a shave, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to position us both. I would love to have a barber chair.

I love the president. I have a 1910 Koken mushroom seat with green porclen. I would love to find a presidnt. The barber that used to cut my hair had a tan presidnt that was very comfortable.

Nice chair! What blade/s do you have working in that vibratory tumbler I see in the background?
Chris L"Blues fallin' down like hail." Robert Johnson
"Aw, Pretty Boy, can't you show me nuthin but surrender?" Patti Smith

Good eye indeed!. At the time of the picture, nothing was in it (the lid is off). I just put a Case Temperite in it tonight.
Don, I can see you now, smoking a pipe and sippin' on some Makers Mark, relaxing in your Koken in front of the fire in your new log cabin home (I'm assuming your done by now). Shoot us some pictures of the chair, maybe we can start a new brotherhood of the chair thread.

Some of us still tumble our brass for reloading in the brass tumbler.
Very cool chair. I have been wanting a barbers pole to put beside my razor case but the chair is awesome.

No, the log home is not done yet working every evening and weekend though. I had a couple setbacks (too many hours at the real job) and everything takes longer than I thought it would. However I do sit in my chair smoke the pipe and sip bourbon. I will try to get a few pics this weekend.

Yeh, real life gets in the way sometimes. How far away from being done are you?
I'll look for your chair pictures this weekend. I'll let you start up the "brotherhood of the chair". I'm sure were no the only ones to have one.
