wow russell now thats a razor, really nice work also, nice lines symetrical and flows smoothly throughout the design, i really like the toe being rounded some, ear saftey device lol, ive nicked mine enough to appreciate that, we are very lucky here at srp as we have so many talented members that can produce such fine blades as this one

I have been thinking about something like this for head shaving. I thought about a japanise style but the asemetrical grind wouldn't have been good. the only thing I would want in a head shaver would be a different handle. On the ATG pass I think this design might roll in the hand. BTW how does this thing strop? Looks like it would be a pure joy to shave with. I really need to save for a custom.

Love the blade thanks for shareing

Stropping: Well, I was actually going to include in my review how much I enjoyed stropping with this razor, but then figured maybe not everyone reallt digs stropping as much as I do. The ability to grip the 4" handle coupled with the humpback offset blade really lets you zing this baby up and down the strop without any fear or hesitation!

As far as ATG grip goes, as I mentioned in my review, I feel that is actually one of the strongpoints of this razor design. The grip is extremely secure and stable. Tosukes are also good in that regard, but as you mention, they have an asymetrical blade grind.

I've included some images of the available grips with this razor:

    "Traditional" thumbnotch grip
"Paddle" grip (this is the grip I was using prior to adding the topnotch)
    ATG paddle grip
ATG thumbnotch grip (I like this grip particularly well for eliminating pesky chin whiskers, really nice control for ATG...)

    Awesome, versatile razor!

Regretably I left the razor here at my desk last night, as I had been working on a box for it back in the shop, and thus missed an opportunity for another shave with it!

Holy crap that's cool! Great design and fantastic execution. You both owe me a new keyboard for all the drool that's on it now.

    Awesome craftsmanship Russell!

I can't believe you messed with the razor Seraphim! lol You should hit that notch with the same high grit sanding and satin treatment so it matches the rest of the razor! haha

Now that is a nice looking Razor. How does it feel in the hand and on the face?

So, out of curiosity, would Russel make more of these, or would that be infringing on your super-cool only one in existence rights?
