I just scored my first straight edge i was so excited. I got home from the post office and immediately went to honing. Its really sharp in some areas and in others its very mild which is nice because i can skip the areas i need to to prevent further irritation.
The intent of this post was to cheer you up if you are having a bad holiday
remember it could be worse

looks like you got a good deal. i'd buff the blade to get rid of the spots. you could probably get away without honing tooo much. i'd suggest you shave your cat before yourself just to make sure of its shavereadiness.
