    Default Stainless stable

My three current stainless razors: Henckels Friodur, Weltmeister rostfrei, and Dovo INOX 5/8.

    All in my paualuminum scales.

I used to also have a stainless Dovo Renaissance, but sold it to fund other purchases. I may have to re-aquire one of those.

    man those are awesome...

I like how you have all your stainless in the same scale material.

my Renaissance is in the mail right now...I cant wait to use it...decided on it after your great review of it earlier

    I'm awaiting two of these:

Eishartung INOX. Same maker as is carried at Rasurpur.

Also looking to hunt down some other stainless makers....

    quick question for you.

I know you said that Renaissance honed up nice with diamond lapping film. how far down did you take it with the 3m dlf...did you go to 1.0 um then just CrO or did you take it to .5um then CrO or did you add in some diamond paste as well...

I am ordering it shave ready so wont need to hone for a while but i plan to use your lapping film system to keep it shaving...

    Very cool!
I love that you've matched the liveries!
    I've got a Friodur & a Dovo No41 & am in the queue for a RW stainless.
    I do like stainless.

IIRC, you prefer carbon steel from Sheffield (1/4 ground) and stainless steel from Solingen (hollow ground)? Not a bad taste!

I like those paua jerseys of your stainless team, nice style there.

PS: You do not happen to have a drill press, do you?

Taking it to 1um I have found to be fine. Some CromOx is nice too. See what you like!

    One final question...

If I plan to just have one maybe two straights and do not plan to get into ebay restors...just maintaining my alreayd honed razors...

what grits should I go with...

    1mu, 3um and 6um

And if this is my plan, how many hones can I get out of a single sheet.

Just trying to see if the sheets are justafyable or if I should go with stones. I like the fact that they dont need lapping...just lay some water on granite and start honing...no soaking or mess...
