Not sure if it is but if it is one of those hones the ax men covet and you put it on Australian ebay you'll get big $$ for it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    I am so jealous.

If recent history is a predictor, that will sell for between $500 and $600. Make sure you write it up well, drawing attention for the axe-men, because those are the guys that pay the big bucks for it

Has anyone ever gotten to the bottom of why it's so good for axes? What makes it better for axes than other hones? Is it good for razors?

Well, if you bid over $500, you might be able to find out for yourself!!!

Actually, to the OP, I would gladly lap your hone to make to look as pristine as possible in exchange for the opportunity to try razor honing with your hone. If you are interested, please send me a PM.

Hehe, I don't have $500 to waste on a razor hone we know nothing about, but now that we have one "in the family" for a bit, so to speak, I wouldn't mind hearing a little bit about it. Hopefully Ron and Stevhint can work something out. With all the hones and experience Ron has, I'm sure he's the perfect person to evaluate it.

Well, to be fair, Sham has a few hones and a bit of experience himself. How about we flip a coin for it. Sham, call it in the air and I'll let you know if you won!
