Slow day at the antique shops
Stopped in at our 3 local favorites today. But only came home with one razor This does complete my pair though. I now have a square point 11/16 to go with the round point. This appears to be NOS, no bevel at all and no hone wear. Still has traces of the oil from manufacturing on it. CarrieM found this marked down 1/2 price. We had to talk for a whole 30 seconds to figure out where the pennies were stashed to pay for it, but it came home with us.

It was more like.. oh crap.. who's got the pennies to cover this. Can't leave it here. If Holli finds it it will be long gone

Well thanks for helping me hold onto my money. I've been having trouble doing that recently... I'd have been digging for pennies myself.

No problem, you would have gotten a nice return on it though.

Whoa nice find. I swear--everywhere else has better antique stores than here. The stores I go into have the same 1 or 2 horrible condition razors everytime. I guess I have to continue to search for the hog hole of straight razors.

We have several places that seem to know that we stop in at least a couple of times a month looking for shaving stuff, Straights. DEs, strops, ect so I think a few of the vendors know that if they bring it in, they have a good chance of selling them

From one Mint WE owner to another, congratulations!
I love mine and yours is the only one I have seen that has as clear swirls on the tang.

Rob, yes the swirls are very clear, better than the other one we have by far. Just cleaned her up with a bit of soap and water and she is ready to hit the hones. might take a bit to get her going as there is no bevel set at all. Looks like it has never been touched.
