Good idea. Nice work.

Isn't that a strop handing behind all the razors?
Is it difficult to remove for use with all the blades there?
If you put a blade on there wet, hanging to dry, water gets on the strop, is that bad for it?

Great idea! I really like the look of this. If only I hate a place high enough, to hang such a thing, out of the reach of the short people.

I don't think He uses it anymore.
I would still oil it every so often just in case the leather did absorb oil. wouldn't want a cupped strop ruining that nice piece of work.
It doesn't look like you used a finish on the wood, is it a clear finish?Last edited by natepaint; 09-01-2009 at 12:21 PM.

Hi Rickboone. Yes that's an old strop of mine. One I don't use anymore. It's glued to the board so I couldn't use it even if I wanted to. I don't put wet blades on the rack, I dry them first. The strop has been coated with some leather conditioner my wife had laying around. So it's somewhat waterproof, if I did get water on it.
