I would still oil it every so often just in case the leather did absorb oil. wouldn't want a cupped strop ruining that nice piece of work.

It doesn't look like you used a finish on the wood, is it a clear finish?

Hi Natepaint. I used 100% pure tung oil, mixed 50-50 with paint thinner for the finish on the wood. I buffed it with #0000 steel wool after three coats. I will be watching the leather and keep it conditioned mainly for cosmetic reasons. The strop is glued to the wood so I don't think cupping will be a problem, but one never knows.
