I love my Bismarck too! Great razor, having come from learning on lighter pieces, it took a couple days to get used to the heavier weight.

You have got a great razor, Stubear!
I've got the same black Bismark and it's scary sharp. I underestimated it's abilities and the result was I nicked myself about the lips somewhat deep. Now I look like I was trying to widen my smile haha Bought it in new condition, originally sealed by Dovo, sharpened by Dovo etc... I think I had a great luck with this razor because it came really shave ready out of the box. I know that happens rarely with new razor. I couldnt believe but it was true, it was seriously sharp and it took my tough beard with great ease. Can't wait to shave with it again

Thanked: 17I've got the same, one of my favourites- preety heavy, but that helps me to avoid nicks- you can't be in rush.

I've had my eye on the Bismark for a year now, but your pictures, Stubear, have my wallet trembling! That really is a thing of beauty - I like the spine work and the shoulderless design - looks real classy.
I offer you a hearty "You Suck" meant with the greenest of envy.

Thanked: 1Bismarck
Eyes on one for a year??? What are you waiting for, the price to go up?? Not only does it look good but it shaves with the best of 'em...and I've tried/owned a few. It also seems to sharpen up easily too...buy with confidence. Good shaving.

I just got the same black bismarck from Don and Lynn. I love Bismarcks. The black scales with the pearlex inlay just set it off, as does the gold work. As far as what to buy next, I'm looking at the Boker 7/8th's, The Celebrated. I found it for 239.00
Congrats to you, excellent choice....We have assumed control !

Thanked: 1195Have fun, man.
I have the red model, shaves really nicely. I would personally say she's a bit over full hollow, as the Bismarck is a bit beefier than most of my other hollows, particuarly Dubl Ducks.
My one and only complaint (as some readers may remember from a while ago) is the finely notched spine; looks stunning but I found without tape it scratches the hell out of my latigo strop. I do remember other members saying that their Bismarcks did not do this, so I must have a "special" one. Hopefully yours provides many years of great service!
Congrats!
