Thanked: 0My new custom Scuttle!
So after a few months of looking at different scuttles for sales, mugs, and other contraptions for working up my lather I finally found a local potter who would take the time to work this first proto-type up for me.
So a couple things that I did a little different with my scuttle design.
-Larger outside bowl in relation to inside bowl, makes this scuttle heavier( which I like, because I like to whip up my lather with the scuttle sitting on the sink) the weight behind this scuttle makes it stay in place.
-The inside bowl doesn't have glaze on the outside, this allows the water to transfer better heat to the lather. This scuttle with keep my lather hot for almost an hour!
-The size and "bell" shape of the inner bowl is big enough to whip up plenty of lather, but not too big that I loose my brush inside of it.
-By design the pottery is dishwasher safe, so nice and easy to clean up since I tend to make a mess.
-Last but not least, this scuttle is less than most that I found online. Only $40, and I picked the shape, weight, size and glaze! The only draw back to this was that the potter is also a full time teacher so I did wait almost two months to get everything together and have my scuttle. But now that she is used to the design and function of the scuttle, my next one will be done in only a couple weeks.
