Very nice, congratulations. It will be interesting to hear about the honing quality differences, if any, among them. That 8X3 rocks!

    Nice Bouts Dave.

P.S. There are no 8x3's in those pics. They are Bouts, pronounced, "Boos" French for Piece. The Belgians waste no stone, Bouts are irregular shaped Coticules and come in different grades just like the 6x2's and 8x3's. Those are very nice stones indeed. It looks like someone went out of there way to pick out nice ones for Dave. I would say those probably came from Bart or Ardennes...

    Thanks guys (and gals ).

The top on is a 21.5 cm x 4 cm La Petite Blanche natural combo, with a beautiful surface. The second one is a La Veinette natural combo, and the third is a La Grosse Blanche coticule (with slate backing). I've only taken one out for a spin so far, but I'm sure they're all great stones!

Coticules rock! Can never have enough.

Since I have a couple more cotis, I thought I would have an update pic of all my coticule friends. 4 of the 6 of them are natural combos, and 5 of 6 slurry stones are natural combos. The second picture of the backside of the combo stones.

Here is what I have, from top down:

    1) 20x6cm La Grosse Blanche
    2) 17x4cm (roughly) La Grosse Blanche
    3) 21.5x4cm La Petite Blanche natural combo
    4) 15x5cm La Petite Blanche natural combo
    5) 15x5cm (bout with corner missing) La Petite Blanche natural combo
    6) 18x5cm (very roughly, at widest points since it's an odd shape) La Veinette natural combo

The last picture is of a very cool looking slurry stone that I got from Rich/zib when I got the 4th stone in the others pictures (great stone btw!). There are a few clearly defined layers in that one stone, all natural. I think it looks pretty neat.

I love them all, all very nice stones.

Just thought I would show them off. Enjoy!
