Clean it up, put 'er back together and then back in service!
I'll definitely get it shave ready and try it out. I really like the heaviness of the blade. It's amazing the weight difference between it and some other blades of the same size. I also have a Joseph Elliot "Fine India Steel" that is a 7/8" and the weight is amazing.

Why is there such a weight difference between blades of the same size?

Scales are FUBAR but the blade will respond favorably to lots of sanding. The weight difference; measure the thickness of the spine on each razor. Total metal volume is higher for the heavier razor.

Looking at the width of the spine makes sense for the weight, but it amazes me as to how much of a difference there is. I'm hoping that the rust isn't too deep, but I will definitely make it shine. I sent one of my hones out to get lapped, so as soon as I get some new scales made I will get it honed up and give it a whirl.
