Look at this beauty!!!
This is my lastest addition. It looks slightly used, but what can you expect for $7.50. A few whacks on the hone and it should be a great shave. I know, I know you all are edrooling over this one.

Too bad about the scales...they look like real tortoise. Hope it cleans up well.

Yeah, I was thinking horn or something because they are kind of scaley and fiberous.

It's so sad the scales are screwed beyond repair.

They could well be horn. That was my first thought. It really will be a beauty when it's seen a bit of work!
I'd save the inlay for the next set.

Mottled horn scales.
I like that razor! I'm sure that will make a nice shaver.

Looks similar to mine and a few others in this thread:

Shame about the scales, but you now have an excuse to purchase a new set of scales (bone maybe?) to provide a new home to the blade once it's restored.

Yeah, I thought about that. I'm sure that the inaly will shine up nicely. Maybe even have my initials engraved in it. I just need to figuree out what kind of scales I want to make. I know that I have some oak laying around. I have never redone any scales before, so this may be my first. I also have a smaller blade to rescale. It is a Torrey "Our 136", 4/8 (I think) and is only about 2 1/2" long (edge part).
