That being said, nice grab. Looks like a great find.
Actually I knew what it is--- What I didn't know is if I should try to clean it up at all or leave the "patina" intact. I've started to hone it, couldn't resist doing that.

At the present rate of honing, I should have a great bevel sometime around Halloween.

If it were me, I'd hone it up, but leave the patina. I think it's purdy that way. Very nice find; congrats!

Nice! Thats a really old one, it looks like early 1800's.

That was definately worth the money..! Thats a really great find and a piece of history if there ever was one.

When people were first shaving with that razor, cars and planes hadnt been invented, there were no computers, never mind the internet and space travel was unthinkable. People were probably talking about the Napoleonic wars and the huge expansion of the railroads.

That razor has survived two World Wars, its seen man walk on the moon, the Industrial Revolution, Samuel Colts first revolver, the invention of Morse code and the telephone. Its probably been used by dozens of people before you, who've seen and done all sorts of things.

I think thats really cool..! Definately a great find!
