Thanked: 1903A Henckeli
Since everyone wants so called Filli's and Butchi's, I thought, I'd get myself another Henckeli instead. Rock solid German quality cannot, after all, be beat. So off to a famous auction site I went, and waited. Some people must have been asleep or looking for "Henckels" instead of "Zwilling"... "Rasiermesser Zwilling Friodur mit Hülle & Schuber TOP!", or, more precisely, a mint Henckeli "72 1/2" 6/8 for €45. I'll hone it, and take proper pictures later.

Thanked: 1371What a great find! I think it should be Hencki though.

A nice razor snag Robin, and a very lovely Ménage à trois of razors.
And it's called a Freedi.

Thanked: 1587There are so many things wrong with this thread I simply do not know where to begin.
First, why are we infantilizing straight razors? Even in jest, it is just wrong.
Second, although I love my Friodur, I would argue that "German" and "rock solid quality" do not necessarily go hand in hand, unless by rock solid quality you are referring to German razors handling like a piece of rock.
Third, if I catch anyone referring to any Sheffield razor by any cutesy name whatsoever, I will make it my mission in life to hunt them down and make them pay. So, if you feel the need to start adding "ey", or "ie", or "iddle" etc. to the end of any Sheffield manufacturer's name, just remember Jimbo: it rhymes with Rambo, he wrestles salties, and he loves his mummy country.
James.
NB: Most of the above is tongue in cheek. But don't push the Sheffield thing.....<This signature intentionally left blank>
