Such a beautiful piece I had to snag one myself. After months of deliberating over Wackers I have finally splashed on my first. Glad to hear they are such great shavers. I will be eager waiting for it to arrive.

I love the look of Wackers, but haven't acquired one yet. Enjoy it! Glad you had such good service from John too.

That's a nice-looking razor. An aesthetic coup. Simple in design and understated in embellishments. Form indeed follows function.

unbelievable
I started w/ a 1/4 hollow spanish point, and as Dylan predicted, I'd want more Wackers. I also bought the old sheffield #4, and the edge, as John delivered it was unreal. I DO get audible feedback from it - quite plainly. My Eyres remains silent, but this one talks as it shaves. Smooth, friendly, just a totally comfortable shave. XTG, ATG, it just says 'let's romp'.
BTW - all the positive posts about dealing w/ John are true. 'A great man to deal with.
With the stosser, got the monster 15/16 worked back ebony hollow. I did this on the basis of John's observation that at 7/8 and above, the full hollow was stiff enough to behave for those preferring the heavier grind. It big, stable, very handsome, and a pleasure to shave with. I would say John's right about this. It's still hollow, still sings, but it sings baritone, and the flex is minimal, unlike the smaller blades. 'Don't have a good pic - and apparently I got the last one. The blade looks identical to this, except the scales are ebony, it's a 3-pin, and about $105 cheaper.Last edited by pinklather; 09-14-2010 at 04:48 AM. Reason: forgot the monster hollow
