    Default A new Wacker

from John Crowley at Shaving Shop.com.

Shaving Shop - luxury classic wet shaving products - straight razors

And a stunningly beautiful razor it is!
A Wacker Old Sheffield Model 4 in dark horn. A 13/16ths near wedge, and it's utterly silent as it mows down whiskers.
John was a real gentleman to do business with! He even called on the phone to see if the razor arrived. He also honed it to perfection.. it was sharp, and more importantly, super smooth!
When I bought this, it was between this Wacker and a Hart. I'm glad I went with this razor, as Mr. Crowley told me that Herr Wacker has less than ten of these left... An heirloom in the making!

I really couldn'ty be happier with my new Wacker..

What a beautiful piece of steel! Use that one with pride. I saw her in your SOTD, and thought then that it looked like a piece worthy of jealousy!

    Thank you,

This is a milestone for me... A razor that did not come off e-bay!

Thanks all for the nice words..

I find myself enjoying razors about this size... A bit heavier with heavier grinds.
This one measures nearmy 1/4", .230 across the spine.. It's a bit heavy, but the scales balance it perfectly and it feels great to shave with.
And John put a wicked edge on it!

    Thanks again!

Beautiful razor, a real treasure. And John is a great proprietor with some very hard to find items.
