    So I measured it today. It is a full 1" wide and the edge is 3 1/8" long.

    Question for the honers. When I sharpen this, since it is a wedge, wont the patina be taken off the sides of the blade anyway?
    I have honed a few hollows, never a wedge.

    No, it was created on a large round stone so there is a hollowness to it. Wedge = 1/4 hollow usually.
    Unless you grind the heck out of it the sides will not touch stone.
