Vintage Tillotson, Huge
Here's one that was an unexpected buy. I got it on eBay for $28, there was only one pic, and not a very good one at that. I thought, what the heck, looked ok. Well it was more than ok, this thing is huge! Has almost no rust, only patina. I am looking forward to wrapping this baby in new scales. Thinking Honey Horn I got from Masecraft.

Thanked: 13247I see those ever so often, they are very good shavers, if you like the older Sheffielders very smooth edges in comparison to many of the others... of course that is JMHO
Here is one I did some time back sorry pics are not that great...

My dilemma:The razor really only needs a cleaning, and a polish if the scales, then a hone.
Cant decide if I want to rescale and polish her up..love that shiny metal

I've gotta agree with Ben. A patina like that is extremely difficult to reproduce, and I think it's beautiful. I would also keep the original scales.
Regardless of what you do decide to do with than razor, I'm sure you'll enjoy her.

This is a great find and I have to echo Ben and Dylan (Holli4) that patina is incredible and the scales look in good nick to me. Amazing score, congrats.

Thanked: 13247You guys see patina, I see rust, and pitting under there...
I understand leaving it be, if I were sticking it in the cabinet to look at for prosperity, but if that baby is going to be sharp as all get out, and being dragged across my Hollywood face I want clean, bright, shiny, steel... Just like it was when it left the factory...
That's my story and I am sticking with it...
