Very nice score! Savor that find.
At the last gun show I went to hunting razors and knives, I went up to this one table that had probably 50 different meat cleavers of all shapes and sizes on display. I asked the father and son team manning the table if they had any straight razors. Their response was "You are the 10th person today that has asked us that. We left all of our razors in the van." I looked at them dumbfounded, wondering what the demand for meat cleavers is compared to straight razors. It is rare now that antiques dealers are not clued into the straight razor craze. But, there are still guys that have hundreds stuffed away in boxes thinking they are as worthless as an old penknives. As you said, you have to ask.

not quite as large but in way better condition i recently acquired a 8/8 glbert brothers. sheffield chopper.
it was one i paid dearly for,not too much but way more than 30.00 the horn handles are really nice condition bullseye washers and a faint image of the masonic theme. worth picking up as i rarely see a gilbert bros tang stamp and it really is a nice shave. thanks CJBIANCO for the new rotation addition.maybe ill post a pic when i get the camera back out.
