My advice would be not to get a dremel, but maybe that's just personal preference. Pumas are great shavers, so I'm sure you'll love her no matter what she looks like.

    Congratulations on your Puma purchase.

Be careful cleaning the blade. Don't use any chemicals to try to clean it. Additionally, anything real abrasive will remove the gold wash etch off of the front of it. Try some MAAS on a soft cloth to clean the backside of the blade as well as the tang, and around, not on the "Puma Special" etch.

These are just my thoughts. Other, more experienced SRP members may be able to give you even better advice.

Then hone it and see what hapens.

Nice. I agree with the advice to leave the dremel out of it. Semi-chrome, Flitz, Maas or something like that with Q-tips and a paper towel is what I use. It will wipe gold wash off in a hurry but won't hurt the etching if you're using no more than the paper towel. Dental floss, unwaxed , is good in the pivot area if you want to clean it up but don't want to unpin the razor. Ought to be a stellar shaver.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    nycexit2,

+1 on the advice above about using the metal polish and no Dremel.

My 'tatty' Puma 89 has a 'bad complexion', but shaves beautifully

    Good shaving with yours !

    Have fun !

    Best regards

Nice grab. Puma's are one of my favorite shavers, and that one isn't to bad. Needs some light cleaning. I'd try MAAS, but you may loose the text on the blade, I'd try to avoid the text area if you can. Give it a shot. Like the other's said, You don't need a dremmel, it doesn't look that bad. Congrats....
