    Default Antique shop score!!!

Went to the antique store yesterday not expecting to find anything new or within my price range.I was wrong on both accounts. Came out with a nice little haul for $25.

Got a Gem junior, a new in box Fuller synthetic brush, a Robeson Shuredge and a Crown Cutlery "Queen Cutter". I'm especially excited about the Robeson as it has an odd grind. It starts out as a full hollow and thickens out to more of a wedge shape towards the edge. In the pic you can see the line on the blade where it becomes thicker. Can't wait to try them all out.

That's fantastic! I'm visiting the family in Tennesse right now and will be hitting the antiques stores tomorrow, I'll be happy if I'm half as lucky as you!

Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

That's a nice find for $25. Never seen a razor that thickens toward the edge before. Let us know how the razor shaves?

I've seen this grind on a few other New York razors but this is the first that I've owned and used. Just finished shaving with it a few minutes ago. Outstanding! Shaves like a wedge but hones like a full hollow.

    Nice $25 find!
Could you post some pics of the Robeson blade profile?
I haven´t seen a razor with a grind that is thicker at the edge.

I couldn't get clear pictures of the grind with my camera, but here's a link to a thread with clear pics of a Cattaraugus with the same grind: Cattaraugus - Bellied 5/8

    Wow that really is unusual.
Would never have thought that razor grinds like that existed.
    Thanks for the link.

After shaving with it, I wish that more razors had this particular grind. Quite a wonderful shaving experiance.
