Thanked: 1587Excellent razors! Yes, it appears to be quite common for people to either write their names on the inside of the lid area of the coffins, or in some cases to scratch their name or initials into the scales. I have quite a few like that. However, I have never had a note from anyone in the razor - a very thoughtful person and a very nice surprise

Nice finds
It's cool to find these little "secrets"
I once found a note giving some guy a exeption of a curfew from 1911 IRC, unfortunaltly my three year old figured it was great fun to make a puzzle out of it, a puzzle with VERY small pieces.Need help or tutoring? Check out the .

The part of history that is intriguing is that part very few hear about, the part where normal people live out their lives. Your find is a taste of this, having names that give a record of your artifact.
A very nice find indeed. Congratulations.

That is very cool. I hope you add your own note to go with it for your grandson.

This is neat
I once bought a box with shaving stuff which belonged to a barber.
His name and address are on the box and on the scales.
Things like that give you a tangible link to the past.
A note like you found is very interesting indeed.Last edited by Bruno; 01-17-2012 at 10:15 AM.
