Finally
I was driving around today after paying a traffic fine and getting my new license-plate sticker because its my birthday on Saturday and that's how the Canadian government likes to congratulate you.
Anyways, I drove by a pawn shop and decided to stop in and see what they had.
Then i saw this beaut laying there. Cant seem to find any info on it other than the fact that its old and from Germany.
It's marked ' M.J. Constantin No. 386 '
Bought it kind of on impulse. Stropped it when I got home and actually got it to pass the hanging hair test all along the blade!
I have a brand new dovo but even after getting 2 different people to hone it I still cant get it sharp enough to shave. So this find made me very happy today.
I'm so happy with my find. It seems in good shape and looks like it was used ALOT. That can only mean one thing, right? Quality. The way I see it, if it was bad quality the owner of this thing wouldn't have used it so much. Any info would be great if anyone has it to share.
Anyways, just had to share this experience as I was sure I was doomed to using disposable straight razor blades for the rest of my life.

Thanked: 1263Nice looking razor...congrats
Gotta agree with Maxi, if you're Dovo won't shave then it hasn't been honed properly at all or else your technique is way off.
Let us know how you make out with your new find though.

Send your Dovo to Lynn. I have a Dovo 6/8 Half Hollow Best Quality honed by Lynn, and it shaves great. It would be a shame for that Dovo to go to waste.
