    Default Strange French razor

I found this on ebay France a week or so ago and it arrived in the post today. The stamping on the tang reads M.F. Medaille DE1 Classe Acier Fondu. It's certainly an unusual style of blade. I'm looking forward to cleaning it up, honing it and trying it out.

I do believe that was on my watch list too. VERY neat razor! I'm looking forward to hearing how well it works.

Now that is a neat find I'm a sucker for wacky designs, kind of why I love the mid 1800's so many different grinds out there.

Hm, the guy that made it must've drank too much absinthe.

Very interesting razor like a shoulderless frameback style wannabe, whats puzzling is the engraving on the blade no name? could it be that they would originally engraved your name on the blade? and sold a few "Sans nom"?
